Find Your Story: Genealogy Workshop

Join expert genealogist Nancy Dupree as she leads a four-week course specifically tailored to those just beginning to trace their family’s history. This course will offer step-by-step instruction and opportunities for hands-on research in the Alabama Department of Archives and History’s Research Room, with full access to a vast number of resources and state-of-the-art research tools.
Through this course, participants will be given a solid foundation to craft an effective research plan and learn valuable skills to help navigate the oftentimes overwhelming world of genealogical research. Dupree will devote special attention to the wide variety of resources available both online and in the ADAH’s extensive collections. Participants will learn how to best use the Archives Research Room and its resources (including free access to ancestry.com and Fold3) to begin to discover their past.
This course will be held Mondays from 9 am til noon at the ADAH beginning March 31st and concluding April 21st. Open registration begins March 3rd. The deadline for registration is March 26th. Cost is $70 for the public and $55 for Friends of the Archives.
